He was born in 1990 in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. He started his first music education at the age of 7 in Absheron Music School for Children in Baku. At the age of 9 he attended “Azerbaijan Young Pianists Competition” and won First Prize. In 2003, he entered to Istanbul Mimar Sinan State Conservatory, in Turkey . In 2004, he won First Prize at the “Galleria Piano Competition” in and in 2006 he won Second Prize at the “Onay Sanat Piano Competition” in Istanbul. In 2008, he won Second Prize at “National Piano Competition” and “Special Jury Prize named of S. Rachmaninov” which organized by Zonguldak Karaelmas University-­Turkey and he also won Third Prize at “Pera International Piano Competition” in Istanbul. So far he performs Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s many cities and in Germany.

He attended Vladimir Viardo’s, Oksana Yablonskaya’s, Vincenzo Balzani’s and Myrthala Salazar’s master-­classes in Gabala International Piano Festival in Azerbaijan, Milena Mullova’s, Toros Can’s master-­classes in Istanbul, Turkey, Tamara Poddubnaya’s in Germany and Boris Petrushansky’s master classes in Imola Summer Music Festival & Academy in Italy. In 2009 he won Honorable Mention Award in Bulgaria, Sophia at the ‘’Lubomir Pipkov International Music Competition-­Lyuba Entcheva Piano Competition”. In 2010 he take on music director and pianist for the musical of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ which played in Turkey. In 2012 he graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory Prof. Bahar Tokay’s (who was studied with Pierre Sancan in Paris) piano class, in 2010 he also graduated from famous Turkish composer Prof. Hasan Ucarsu’s composition class.

In April 2013 he played 18 concert in Azerbaijan on two weeks with his sister Turan Manafzade and won First Prize on “Pera Istanbul International Piano Competition” Piano Duo Category with Turan Manafzade in May 2013. He won First Prize on Piano Solo Category and First Prize on Piano Duo Category (with his sister Turan Manafzade) in Germany “International Baden-­Würtemberg Musical Fireworks Competition” in June 2013. He gave a concert with Turan Manafzade in Bucharest/Romania at Johann Strauss Festival in August and won “First Prize” on Piano Solo Category, “Second Prize” on Piano Duo Category (with his sister) and “Second Prize” on Piano Four Hands Category in International Piano Competition Albena, Bulgaria. In 2013, Manafzade composed first Concerto for Balaban (Azerbaijani ethnic woodwind instrument) and Symphonic Orchestra in the world. This Concerto’s World Premiere performed at 4th of November 2018 under Maestro Farkhad Khudyev conducting with Monterey Youth Symphony Orchestra in California/USA and 25th of May 2019 under his sister Maestra Turan Manafzade conducting “Azerbaijan Premiere” of this concerto at Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall. At the same concert he conducted Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto no.3, soloist was his father. Between 2014-­2016 he studied Orchestral Conducting with Maestro Antonio Pirolli in Istanbul and with Maestro Boris Perrenoud in Vienna and in 2016 played Young Concert Artists International Auditions Semi-
Finals in New-­York.

Latest, in 2018 Manafzade won “Grand Prix” at “Classic Pure Vienna International Music Competition” in Austria, and in 2019 4th Prize at “Stradella International Piano Competition” in Italy and 3rd Prize at “Adilia Alieva International Piano Competition” in France/Switzerland.

In 2017-2018 Concert Season he played as soloist with Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Caspian Virtuosos Orchestra in Vienna, and played and conducted Mons Conservatory Orchestra in February 2018 in Amsterdam.
In 2020 he attended Marin Alsop Conducting Masterclass in Vienna and Conducted G. Mahler´s 5. Symphony 1. Mov. and at the same year he received his Piano-Master Degree in Anton Bruckner University in Linz with Prof. Oleg Marshev.

In February 2021, he choosed and invited by Principal Conductor of Vienna Symphony Orchestra Maestro Andrés Orozco-­Estrada as one of 9 young conductors from all conducting students of University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna to masterclass and conduct to orchestra. End of the masterclass he conducted Beethoven 5. Symphony 1. Movement with Vienna Symphony Orchestra.

Mr. Manafzade started his Orchestral Conducting education in 2017 with Prof. Simeon Pironkoff and currently continue with Prof. Johannes Wildner in University of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna.
